Family Session Information

Once we have booked a date & time for your photo session, we should chat about location. I am an on-location photographer, which means I go to you: your house, a beach, a park, downtown, train tracks, a lake, the options are endless! My backdrops are the natural beauty of Washington State. Different locations look better and have better light at different times of day, so I may have suggestions for you regarding location and times.
I am a natural light photographer, so most of my sessions will take place in the morning or late afternoon. If you see a picture in my galleries that you especially like, just ask me and I can tell you the location and time of day it was taken.

Sessions usually last 1-3 hours, depending on the number of children, how many breaks we need to take and if there are any clothing changes. I do not rush sessions and will keep taking pictures right until the very end. Sometimes the last picture is the best one.

Newborn sessions will last a little longer, 2-4 hours, as more breaks are usually needed.

I am located in Sammamish, and I have done sessions all around Sammamish & Issaquah, as well as Seattle, Redmond, Fall City, Mercer Island, Kirkland, Bellevue, Snoqualmie, Alki Beach, Redondo Beach. Your favorite location may become mine too.

After your session, I will individually edit all the best images and put them into an online gallery for you. The gallery will be ready in 7-14 days. I will notify you of your gallery being ready by email or telephone. Your personal gallery is password-protected so you can share it with your friends and family but know that your images are secure.

Galleries will be available for viewing for 30 days.
You should be placing your order within the 30 day active time period. If you require your online gallery time to be extended, it is a $25 reactivation charge.

We can have an in-person or telephone consultation/ ordering session after you have viewed your images. I will contact you within a few days after you receive your gallery information to set up an appointment. I will help you with your ordering, show you samples of sizes and display options. It will be a fun process, I promise!

If you have any questions at any time about the session or post-session, please email or calll me!

What to Wear

This is the question I am asked the most!

I have a Pinterest Board with ideas and information on Outfits for Portrait Sessions.

What to Wear for Portrait Session

~~~~~~~~~~
A few main things to think about when deciding on your outfits:
Keep it simple ~ less is better. Portraits are better when YOU are the focus, not your clothing.
Be comfortable;
Wear clothes that reflect you and your style;
Pick a few colors that mix well, and keep all the outfits in those colors. You can have prints & solids mixed, as long as the colors go well together;
Don't try something new for the first time on the day of the session (try things on a few days prior);
If you want to wear white, try to pick material with texture that adds interest;
Jewel tones can be gorgeous and usually look better than plain white. Fabric with texture is also better than shiny fabric.
Be aware of the material of your clothing ~ don't wear clothes that wrinkle easily or have a shine to them;
Barefeet always work (especially for little ones)
A few prints mixed with solids give some interest to the outfits;
Be creative with accessories;
Hats, scarves, vests, jackets are great to bring along to change up your look with little effort;
Use layers to add and subtract from your basic look (sweaters over t-shirts, vests over shirts, jackets, scarves, etc....);
and most of all, LIKE and be COMFORTABLE with what you are wearing!
